RANONG, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul led an emergency inspection in Ranong province yesterday (May 10) at a warehouse where authorities seized suspected tax-evading goods valued at more than 50 million baht.
Anutin was joined by Ranong Governor Rachan Meenoi, military personnel from the Fourth Army Area, police officers, and related agencies during the inspection in Bang Rin subdistrict. The operation was in response to intelligence reports alleging the warehouse was being used to store imported goods that had not undergone customs procedures.
The warehouse belonged to a private company in Ranong and had been leased to a 22-year-old foreign national. During the inspection, officials found machinery equipment, electrical appliances, industrial materials, and other foreign-manufactured products stored inside the facility.
No import documentation or customs clearance records could be presented for the goods. Authorities attempted to contact the tenant and the owner of the products for clarification, but were unable to do so. They later seized all items for legal examination and further investigation.
