Anutin awards 14 million baht to Thailand’s volleyball heroes

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presents prize money to Thailand’s women’s national volleyball team at Government House on September 3.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul welcomed the Thailand women’s national volleyball team to Government House on Sep 3 following its success at the 2026 AVC Women’s Volleyball Continental Championship. The premier congratulated the athletes and coaching staff on their performance and Olympic qualification, praising their discipline, determination, and teamwork for bringing pride and joy to people across Thailand. Anutin reaffirmed continued government support as the team prepares for future international competitions. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Sports Authority of Thailand will also sponsor athletes across different sports through training and skills development to help them compete at international standards.



Team captain Pornpun Guedpard presented Anutin with a commemorative volleyball signed by the players during the reception. The prime minister also thanked the Thailand Volleyball Association, coaches, officials, and others behind the team’s success, while encouraging the athletes to maintain their health and physical condition as they prepare for upcoming competitions. Anutin later presented more than 14 million baht in prize money to the athletes, coaching staff, and Thailand Volleyball Association, with payments transferred directly to the athletes’ bank accounts during the ceremony. (NNT)
