Advance voting on February 1, 2026, in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, saw steady participation from early morning, including military personnel assigned to border security, as officials confirmed smooth operations and full readiness for the February 8 general election.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Advance voting in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, proceeded smoothly on February 1, 2026, with steady voter turnout from early morning.

The Sisaket Provincial Public Relations Office reported that many military personnel assigned to border security traveled to the district’s advance polling station to vote, demonstrating strong civic participation.

Sergeant Major Samkuan Singkham, District Chief of Kantharalak and Chair of the Polling Station Committee, stated that 6,691 voters registered for out-of-constituency advance voting. Most are residents living outside their home constituencies, including military personnel stationed in border areas.



To facilitate a smooth and efficient voting process, the district organized 13 polling units, grouped by province. Provinces with higher numbers of registered voters were assigned separate units, while those with fewer registrants were combined.

Kantharalak District has completed preparations for the general election on February 8, 2026. Officials confirmed that contingency plans are in place for any border emergencies, in line with relevant laws and regulations. Authorities noted that the security situation is calm and coordination with security agencies continues to ensure the election proceeds as planned. (NNT)
