
BANGKOK, Thailand – His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen traveled by royal motorcade to the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall at the Grand Palace to conduct the 100-day royal merit-making ceremony (Satamawara) dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.
His Royal Highness Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti and Chao Khun Phra Sineenat Bilaskalayani accompanied Their Majesties. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, and Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya were also present to receive Their Majesties.
Upon arrival, His Majesty paid homage by lighting ceremonial candles and incense before the royal urn, followed by Her Majesty the Queen. His Majesty then worshiped the Buddha image associated with Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s birth anniversary, and took his seat.
His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch administered the precepts, followed by blessings chanted by 30 monks. His Majesty then presented alms to the Supreme Patriarch and senior monks. The ceremony included multiple rounds of robe and ritual offerings, holy water pouring, and blessings, culminating in 93 offerings to mark the age of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.
After the rites, Their Majesties paid respects before the royal urn. His Majesty offered incense at the ceremonial platforms for the chanting of funeral rites on both the eastern and western sides of the Throne Hall, received salutations from attendees, and departed the Grand Palace by royal motorcade.
