Bangkok – Meechai Ruchupan, the Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC), said it is a positive sign that many groups have already submitted documents to register new political parties.

Meechai expressed his belief that the next election will yield new politicians who will bring changes to Thailand. He said more than 90 groups have submitted documents seeking to register new political parties, and the number is beyond his expectation.

The creation of so many new parties will give people a wider choice political discourse, said Meechai and he believes the next election will lead to a positive change for the country. He hopes voters will choose new candidates in order not to bring politics back into conflict.
