Parker and Murnin battle to the wire

PSC golf from The Bunker Bar

Monday, August 22, The Emerald – Stableford

Geoff Parker is making a late surge to challenge Barry Murnin for the golfer of the month title; Geoff finished runner up today beating Colin Greig on a count back but the best round of the day was played by Tony Robbins who scored a marvellous 40 stableford points to win the comp, and a near pin win too made it a very profitable day for him!

Playing together again, Barry and Geoff had a cracking round with Barry turning the tables on Geoff to win the A flight with a brilliant 42 points.  Geoff pushed him all the way and eventually lost it on the 18th hole but still came into the clubhouse with 41 points to take second place.

Colin Greig, playing in the same group, was unable to keep up with the leaders finishing third with 38 points and bemoaning the ‘dodgy’ handicaps of the two leaders!

In the B flight Reg Smart came back refreshed after an enforced break from golf to win with 40 points.  Geoff Hart got in the frame again finishing second while Nigel Cannon, making another ‘guest’ appearance, took third place.
