Monday, Feb. 18, Plutaluang E&S – Stableford

Plutaluang East and South loops were the game today and after an easy check-in we were off The East 1 tee some 10 minutes early under very hot (39C+) conditions.  The course on the day was in good shape with just light sand on some of the greens.

The course was also very busy but we were back in the clubhouse in 4 hours and 30 minutes where welcomes went out to Jacky Wan and Popeye from Hong Kong, and goodbyes to the Hangover 3 kids, Monte Sykes and Ty Anderson who were going back to Virginia.

Thursday, Feb. 21, Khao Kheow – Stableford

We made it up the route 7 lickety split to Khao Kheow in a smidgeon over 40 minutes.  The reception staff told us we could not get booked in until 30 minutes before our tee time but in the meantime some phone calls were made and they checked us in after about a 5 minute deliberation but we still had to wait for caddies and carts for about 45 minutes.

We got off the C1 tee on time under sunny skies with a cooling breeze, not as hot as last week.  The course was in fine condition with slick greens.

As at all courses it was busy, taking 4 hours and 30 minutes to get around.  Back in the clubhouse welcomes went out to Gregg McCrindle from Rubgy, England and the Thomas brothers, Nick from London and Martin from Vancouver.

Two flights today with the cut at handicap 18 and the full bag of near pins.  Mashi Kaneta won the A Flight with a resounding 43 points.  Don Richardson was second on 38, Arne Max Pedersen third with 36 and Leif Kirkgaard fourth on 35

Mikke Winfield topped the B Flight with a fine 41 points ahead of Kai Aabling second, Jan Lovgreen third and Dave Richardson fourth.
