Travellers Rest Golf Group

Tuesday, June 19, Laem Chabang – Stableford

Tuesday saw TRGG start off this week’s competitions by returning to Laem Chabang (C and B courses) after a long absence and I think the whole group would agree that they found it in outstanding condition.  In my opinion it is one of the best presented courses in the Pattaya region and I am sure we shall be playing there again in the near future.

Rob Herald, playing off sixteen, was taking a break from his teaching duties and won the competition with 38 points, followed by Ted Senior (12) with 36pts and Masa Takana (6) taking third spot on count back with 32.

David Booth, left, and Seil Revels, right, the top two at Mountain Shadow. David Booth, left, and Seil Revels, right, the top two at Mountain Shadow.

Thursday, June 21, Phoenix – Stableford

Thursday was the group’s weekly visit to Phoenix (Ocean and Lakes) where Amphan North destroyed the rest of the field.  Playing off a thirteen handicap she walked the competition with an outstanding 39 points.  Rob Herald (16) was the best of the rest with 34pts and old stager Alan Evans (23) grabbed third spot with 33.

It was good to see Roger Wilkinson playing again after recovering from a hand injury sustained in an accident on his motorcycle.

Saturday, June 23, Mountain Shadow – Stableford

The weekend saw a small field take on Mountain Shadow, always a tricky course to get the better of and the scores returned reflected this.  Seil Revels, playing off four, won with 32 points after beating David Booth, playing off thirteen, on count back.

Good luck to all you golfing enthusiasts for the coming week!
