Thai Airways apologizes over baggage backlog, cancels eight more flights

Thai Airways CEO Chai Eamsiri apologizes over baggage delays affecting 52 flights, while eight additional flights are cancelled on September 29.

BANGKOK, Thailand –Thai Airways CEO Chai Eamsiri has apologized to passengers affected by baggage delays, saying the airline is working to return delayed luggage as quickly as possible.

Baggage from 52 flights operated on September 26–27, 2026 is currently being sorted and progressively delivered to passengers who have registered their baggage details. The airline said operations will continue until all outstanding baggage has been delivered.

For September 28, Thai Airways reported 34 delayed flights. Passengers who have already registered their baggage can track their cases through the airline’s procedures. Those collecting baggage themselves can contact the Baggage Service Office on Level 2, in front of the domestic passenger exit, from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., at 0-2134-5373–74. Passengers who registered their baggage through a QR code will have their luggage delivered to the address provided during registration.


Passengers who have not registered their baggage or require additional information can contact 0-2134-5373–74 for domestic routes or 0-2134-5466–68 for international routes. Thai Airways said staff will contact passengers by telephone or email to confirm their information before arranging baggage delivery.

The airline again apologized for the inconvenience and impact caused by the situation, adding that it continues to work on the baggage backlog to deliver passengers’ belongings as quickly as possible.

Eight more flights cancelled September 29


Thai Airways also announced the cancellation of eight flights on September 29, 2026:

  • Bangkok–Khon Kaen: TG040/TG041
  • Bangkok–Phuket: TG201/TG202
  • Bangkok–Hanoi: TG560/TG561
  • Bangkok–Singapore: TG403/TG404
