Teachers across Thailand reminded to renew their Professional Teaching License before the new school term begins, as over 25,000 educators risk being unable to teach without a valid license.

PATTAYA, Thailand – As the new academic term approaches, the Thai government is reminding teachers across the country that a valid Professional Teaching License is mandatory to continue working in schools. Authorities warn that more than 25,000 teachers nationwide have not yet renewed their licenses, putting them at risk of being barred from teaching.

Deputy Government Spokesman Kharom Phonphonklang announced that the Ministry of Education and the Teachers’ Council of Thailand (Khurusapha) are stepping up efforts to raise educational standards, with a particular focus on teacher qualifications. The new enforcement policy requires that all teaching personnel hold a valid professional license, without exception. Those without a license will be prohibited from performing teaching duties in any educational institution.

In line with this push, Khurusapha has launched a national campaign titled “This School Term, Every Child Deserves a Licensed Teacher.” The campaign includes new support measures such as real-time notification systems and improved data sharing between agencies to monitor license status. It also includes ongoing professional development programs to enhance teachers’ skills and ethical standards.

One of the key strategies under the campaign involves a proactive framework focused on awareness, alertness, reminders, follow-ups, and official certification—ensuring that all educators stay up to date and remain eligible to teach.

Schools and affiliated agencies are being urged to check which teachers are nearing license expiration or have already passed the renewal deadline. Teachers are encouraged to use the KSP Self-Service platform to renew their licenses online, helping to avoid any disruption in student learning.

Educators can check their current license status at https://www.ksp.or.th/service/license_search.php and submit renewal applications via https://selfservice.ksp.or.th/ksp-esv/index.jbx. More information is available on the official Khurusapha website at https://www.ksp.or.th/ksp-selfservice/.
