PATTAYA, Thailand – The girlfriend of “Ball,” one of the suspects in the high-profile five-victim murder case in Huay Yai, Chonburi, has claimed that her partner was deceived into joining the incident and only discovered later that it involved a murder. The woman, identified only as “Or,” told reporters that Ball had known another suspect, “Pong,” for around seven to eight years through past involvement related to drug activities. She claimed that after Pong was released from prison, he contacted Ball over an alleged unpaid debt of around 20,000 baht and used other people to deliver threats, causing Ball to fear for his family’s safety. According to her account, Pong later contacted Ball and asked him to accompany him to collect money or settle a debt. She claimed Ball agreed to go but did not know that a violent crime was planned.
She alleged that Pong was the person who planned and directed the events, claiming Ball was brought along under false pretenses and only later realized the seriousness of what had happened. Police have not confirmed these claims, and investigators are continuing to determine each suspect’s role in the case. She said that after returning home, Ball appeared deeply distressed, cried, struggled to sleep, and showed signs of fear after what he had witnessed. She claimed he avoided telling the family full details because he feared putting them at risk. The girlfriend alleged that Ball later told her he became suspicious after arriving at the scene and seeing prepared burial pits, realizing the situation was not related to debt collection as he had been told.
She also claimed Ball denied being the person who carried out the shootings and did not reveal who was responsible for using the weapon. The woman further alleged that Pong continued monitoring Ball after the incident to see whether he would report information to police, and that threats were made against people connected to the case. After Ball surrendered, she said he made one phone call to her, asking her to secure the house and look after the family’s safety before apologizing, but without revealing further details. She is now concerned about Ball’s safety while in custody and has urged authorities to consider separating him from other suspects due to fears he could face danger.
Authorities have not confirmed the allegations, and the investigation into the five-victim murder case remains ongoing.
