PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City officials inspected a seafood vendor at Lan Pho Market in Naklua after a customer reported receiving 1 kilogram of spoiled blue crab for 340 baht. The customer said a staff member selected the crabs instead of allowing them to choose, and the purchase was paid for by scan. After returning to Bangkok and opening the package, the customer found the crabs had spoiled, while seafood purchased from other vendors remained fresh.

Following the complaint, Pattaya officials inspected the vendor. The shop owner has since compensated the customer for the loss, while public health officials recorded the case and warned the vendor to prevent a repeat of the incident. The inspection was carried out by Pattaya City’s Complaints Division, Public Health Consumer Protection Division, and Sanitation and Environmental Health Division.
