BANGKOK, Thailand – The South African–Thai Chamber of Commerce (SATCC) marked the close of a successful and energetic year with its much-anticipated annual Christmas Brunch, held on Sunday 21 December at Escape Restaurant at EmQuartier on Sukhumvit Road.

This year’s festive gathering took place once again under the stewardship of SATCC President Kallie De Lange and his dedicated executive team, who once again delivered an event that blended celebration, networking, and genuine camaraderie in equal measure.

Guests were treated to a generous South African themed buffet that showcased comforting favourites and crowd-pleasing classics. Highlights included flavourful Beef Bobotie, Boerewors Bredie , beautifully prepared calamari, a tempting selection of cheeses, and a traditional roasted ham served with all the festive trimmings. Desserts were plentiful and thoughtfully arranged, with ice creams ensuring that younger guests were just as well catered for as the adults.

Raffle prizes galore.

The feast was perfectly complemented by outstanding South African wines from KWV, including the elegant Laborie Brut Cap Classique, its elegance, vibrant intensity, and dry style, made using the traditional méthode champenoise and also a lively rosé sparkling wine that added seasonal cheer. KWV’s excellent Roodeberg Dr. Charles Niehaus Red and elegant Sauvignon Blanc, the wines played a central role in setting the tone for a relaxed and celebratory afternoon.

The atmosphere throughout the brunch was convivial and warm. Conversations flowed easily among members and guests, many of whom have shared long-standing friendships through the chamber over the years. Laughter was frequent, and the sense of community was unmistakable, reinforcing SATCC’s role not only as a business network, but also as a social anchor for South Africans and friends of South Africa in Thailand.

The Escape room at Emquartier was a perfect venue.

More than a festive gathering, the brunch also served as a moment of reflection. It marked the close of a year filled with activity, engagement, and collaboration for the chamber, while offering an optimistic look ahead to 2026. The energy in the room suggested strong momentum and a shared enthusiasm for the year to come.

As the final glasses were raised and farewells exchanged, it was clear that the SATCC Christmas Brunch had once again achieved its purpose. It brought people together, celebrated shared culture, and closed the year on a high note, with goodwill, friendship, and optimism firmly in place.
