When the streets are jammed with powdered, water-throwing Songkran revelers, it’s no surprise that traffic on Pattaya’s streets was reduced to a crawl.

Soi Khao Talo exemplified the gridlock April 17. Busy during normal times, the East Pattaya thoroughfare was completely shut down due to not only heavy congestion, but inoperative traffic lights.

No traffic police were to be seen, as they were on security duty for tourists downtown.

Residents complained that their pleasant five-minute commute home had turned into a two-hour slog and demanded the lights be fixed as soon as possible.

Soi Khao Talo was completely jammed during Songkran.
