SATTAHIP, Thailand – Traffic police in Sattahip have stepped up checks on road users, focusing on drivers travelling against traffic and motorcycles fitted with excessively loud exhaust systems. The operation was led by Pol. Lt. Col. Phatthanant Somnual, known as “Inspector Taengkwa,” who oversees traffic operations at Sattahip Police Station in Chonburi. Officers have been carrying out traffic checks and taking action against motorists who drive the wrong way, a dangerous violation that can increase the risk of head-on collisions and other accidents.
Police are also inspecting motorcycles with loud exhaust systems following complaints that excessive engine noise causes disturbances and affects people living and working near the roads. The traffic operation aims to improve road safety while maintaining order and reducing disturbances caused by vehicles. Sattahip traffic police said the checks will continue, with motorists reminded to follow traffic rules and ensure their vehicles comply with legal requirements.
