The mother of Diana and Roman, the two Russian victims, shared a video tribute on the Threads platform showing memories of her children before their deaths. The emotional footage showed the siblings smiling and enjoying life, drawing messages of sympathy from people following the case.
A farewell ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 6, from 10 a.m. at the location where the victims were found. Members of the public will be able to bring flowers, pay their respects and observe a moment of silence in memory of the five victims, including the Thai family of three who died in the same incident. Meanwhile, police and rescue officials from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya prepared the area around the location where the Thai family’s bodies were discovered by cutting grass and clearing the site ahead of further examination.
Sources said police are planning to use scanning equipment to inspect the area again after questioning revealed that suspects “Pong” and “Thong” provided conflicting information about two important locations connected to the case. The additional search is intended to verify evidence and gather further information for the investigation. During preparations at the site, officials discovered a T-shirt, a water bottle and a food container in a wooded area nearby. Investigators are checking whether the items are connected to the case.
The development comes amid online speculation after reports claimed two police officers’ photographs had been removed from a personnel board at Huai Yai Police Station due to alleged links to suspect “Pong.” However, an inspection found that the two photographs belonged to officers who had already transferred to other agencies, and police said the removal was part of normal administrative procedures. The investigation into the deaths of the two Russian tourists and the Thai family remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to collect evidence and verify all information before drawing conclusions.
