PATTAYA, Thailand – While the Meteorological Department warned of heavy rain, flash floods, and rough seas across many parts of Thailand, Pattaya continued to enjoy a bright coastal afternoon, with visitors taking advantage of sunny conditions along the beach. The latest weather warning forecast heavy rainfall in 33 provinces, with the North and Northeast expected to see thunderstorms covering around 70% of areas. Bangkok and surrounding provinces were also warned of possible heavy rain, while residents in vulnerable areas were advised to watch for flash flooding and water runoff. The warning was linked to a monsoon trough affecting Myanmar, upper northern Thailand, and Laos, combined with a relatively strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

The Eastern region was among the areas expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in some locations, particularly Chanthaburi and Trat. Coastal areas were also warned of strong winds and waves, with the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand facing waves of 2–3 meters and higher in storm areas. Small boats were advised to remain ashore until July 15, while marine operators were urged to take extra caution and avoid areas experiencing thunderstorms. However, conditions in Pattaya remained calm on Monday afternoon, with blue skies and sunshine providing a reminder of the city’s changing coastal weather patterns. Visitors were seen enjoying the beach, while businesses along the waterfront continued normal operations despite the wider national weather alert. Authorities continue to advise residents and tourists to monitor weather updates, especially during the rainy season when conditions can change quickly.
