Elite runners from Kenya, Ethiopia and around the world have joined previous Pattaya Marathon events, chasing records alongside thousands of amateur runners and families enjoying the city’s biggest running weekend.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Lace up your running shoes — Pattaya is preparing for another major race weekend as Pattaya Marathon 2026 returns on September 26–27 (Sat-Sun), bringing together everyone from family runners to elite athletes chasing record-breaking performances. The international-standard event has become a highlight on Thailand’s running calendar, attracting participants from across the country and overseas. In previous editions, top runners from world-class distance-running nations including Kenya, Ethiopia, and other countries have joined the race, with elite athletes aiming to challenge course records and achieve personal best times.

The two-day event will offer categories for runners of all levels. The Family Run and Mini Marathon are planned for September 26, giving children, families, and recreational runners a chance to take part. The main competition categories, including the Half Marathon and Full Marathon, will take place on September 27, welcoming serious competitors and long-distance enthusiasts. Beyond the competition, Pattaya Marathon 2026 aims to showcase the city as a leading sports tourism destination, combining international racing standards with Pattaya’s famous coastal atmosphere.

The event is expected to bring thousands of runners, supporters, and visitors to the city, creating opportunities for local hotels, restaurants, transportation providers, and tourism businesses. However, some Pattaya residents are hoping this year’s event will come with improved traffic management before, during, and after the race. In previous years, road closures and route changes caused frustration among some commuters, including workers who struggled to reach their jobs during the marathon period. Residents have called for clearer communication, better planning, and alternative routes to ensure the event benefits the city while minimizing disruption to daily life.

Further details, including registration, race routes, schedules, and other arrangements, will be announced soon by the new Pattaya City administration. Whether chasing a personal best, competing for a podium finish, or simply enjoying a run with family and friends, Pattaya Marathon 2026 promises a weekend of energy, excitement, and city-wide participation.
