Police believe robbery was the motive behind the fatal stabbing of a German man in his Jomtien Beach condominium.

The brutalized body of Keim Gunter, 66, was found Dec. 15 at the Metro Jomtien Condotel. He was stabbed in the neck and his chest sliced open.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry, but possibly a spare key was used to open the door.

However, investigators said, Gunter was known to keep company with a litany of women, including a regular acquaintance who stayed overnight Dec. 11 and six women seen partying in his apartment Dec. 8.

The victim’s computer and wallet were missing, so police suspect robbery.

Investigators’ work is being hampered by the condominium complex’s security camera system, which was out of service at the time of the murder.
