PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is fully prepared for the upcoming Wan Lai celebrations on April 19, with local police confirming strict safety and traffic management measures to handle the expected influx of tourists and revelers.

Pol Col Anek Srathongyu, Superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, said authorities are ready to ensure public safety and convenience during one of the city’s busiest Songkran-related events.

He noted that police have coordinated with local administration and all relevant agencies to strengthen security across water play zones and high-risk areas, aiming to maintain order and build confidence among visitors.

On traffic management, authorities have prepared a structured plan and are advising motorists not participating in the festivities to use alternative routes. Recommended detours include Highway 331 from Khao Mai Kaew toward Sattahip and Motorway 7 (M7) toward Na Jomtien to help reduce congestion in central Pattaya.

Senior police leadership from Chonburi and Region 2 have also instructed officers to fully support operations, with a strong focus on protecting lives and property throughout the festival period.

Officials have urged both residents and tourists to celebrate Songkran respectfully, emphasizing safe water play, proper etiquette, and the use of clean water and safe equipment to preserve Thai cultural traditions.

Authorities say they are confident that with cooperation from the public, Wan Lai Pattaya can be both safe and memorable for all.
