The wife of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and spouses of his cabinet ministers made merit in Pattaya for HM Queen Sirikit’s birthday.

Napaporn Chan-O-cha led the Aug. 7 delegation to Yansangwararam Temple where they were welcomed by Chonburi Gov. Pakarathorn Thienchai and his wife Supaporn.

Upon arriving, the spouses paid respects to the principle Buddha image in the Ubosot. Napaporn lit candles and incense to pay respect to Triple Gems and led the group in placing garlands on trays in front of the Buddha.

They also saw the wax figures of monks and listened to dharma taught by the late Supreme Patriarch Nyanasamvara, who called the temple home.

The group then donated necessities and robes to the monks before joining 50 volunteers to pack okra seeds to be given to farmers.

Finally the spouses group and 120 volunteers cleaned the temple grounds and donated supplies and sports equipment to the temple’s school to wrap a day of heavy merit-making.
