PATTAYA, Thailand – A pickup truck was severely damaged after catching fire shortly after refueling in Bang Saray, Sattahip district, on the evening of June 23. At approximately 6:17 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle fire in Soi Plew Thian where they found a grey Nissan NV pickup truck engulfed in flames.
The driver, Montri, 44, told authorities he had just refueled at a nearby gas station and was driving home when the engine suddenly stalled. After pulling over to the side of the road, he attempted to restart the vehicle several times. Moments later, flames and thick smoke began pouring from the engine compartment, prompting him to quickly exit the vehicle and call for help. Firefighters brought the blaze under control after more than 10 minutes, but the vehicle sustained extensive damage to the driver’s cabin and engine compartment. Authorities believe the fire may have been caused by a fault in the engine or electrical system, although the exact cause remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
