PATTAYA, Thailand – Authorities have stepped up safety measures at Bali Hai Pier by conducting strict alcohol screenings for boat operators as part of intensified Songkran safety operations.

Led by senior officers from the Tourist Police Division 4, in coordination with the Marine Department Thailand and Pattaya City Police Station, officials carried out on-site inspections at the busy pier, a key departure point for tourists heading to nearby islands.



The operation focused on testing boat captains and crew members for alcohol consumption before departure, aiming to reduce risks of accidents during the high-traffic Songkran holiday period. Authorities said the proactive checks are part of broader efforts to ensure safe marine travel as tourist numbers surge.
