PATTAYA, Thailand – The Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory for Pattaya and the eastern provinces of Thailand from November 17–23. Residents and visitors should prepare for occasional thunderstorms in the early period, followed by cooler temperatures and stronger winds.
In Pattaya and the eastern seaboard, early morning temperatures are expected to range between 20–23 °C, with daytime highs reaching 30–32 °C. Northeastern winds will blow at speeds of 15–35 km/h. Rainfall is likely in some areas, particularly from Nakhon Si Thammarat northward, with showers occasionally heavy. Sea conditions in the Gulf of Thailand are expected to see waves of 1–2 meters, rising above 2 meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms.
Authorities advise caution for residents near low-lying and coastal areas, as heavy or prolonged rain may lead to flash floods and runoff from hills. Boaters and fishermen should exercise care and avoid going out to sea in stormy conditions, especially during November 19–23.
The department also noted that the upper Thailand region will experience unstable weather due to cold air masses from China, which will lower temperatures further and produce stronger winds. While rainfall in Pattaya is expected to be lighter than in southern provinces, residents should monitor local weather updates and plan accordingly.
