PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya residents and visitors are advised to prepare for scattered thunderstorms as the Meteorological Department forecasts continued rainfall in parts of Thailand, including the Eastern region, on July 19. The department said the southwest monsoon remains active over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, while a low-pressure area over northern Vietnam is contributing to unstable weather conditions.
For the Eastern region, including Chonburi and Pattaya, thunderstorms are expected in around 30% of the area, mainly affecting Nakhon Nayok, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Temperatures are forecast to range between 24–27°C at night and 32–36°C during the day. Winds from the southwest are expected at 15–35 kilometers per hour, with seas reaching 1–2 meters high. During thunderstorms, waves may exceed 2 meters, and boat operators are urged to exercise caution and avoid areas affected by storm activity. The Meteorological Department advised the public to remain alert for sudden thunderstorms, while marine operators and beach visitors should monitor weather updates for changing sea conditions.
