PATTAYA, Thailand – Residents in Soi Yen Sabai, South Pattaya, have again raised concerns over groups of young Kuwaiti visitors riding motorcycles dangerously, including performing wheelies on public roads, despite repeated efforts by police to curb reckless riding in the area. Residents said the groups frequently ride together, revving their engines, sounding their horns and performing stunts that leave pedestrians and other road users worried about possible crashes.
The latest complaints were made on August 16, with residents saying the activity is particularly noticeable from the early evening through late night and sometimes into the early hours, creating both safety concerns and a persistent noise nuisance for people living nearby.
The latest complaints highlight a problem that has repeatedly surfaced in Pattaya, where police and local authorities have carried out patrols and enforcement measures targeting dangerous motorcycle riding and other disruptive behavior by foreign visitors. Residents said they appreciated previous police efforts but want continued monitoring and enforcement, particularly during late-night hours, to prevent dangerous riding from returning to the neighborhood. They urged the relevant authorities to inspect the area and take action under traffic and public-order laws where violations are found.
