A Ruan Pisa Village resident points to the area where people burn their garbage, sending foul-smelling smoke into their homes.

Residents of the Ruan Pisa Village on Chaiyapornvitee Road, which leads from Naklua to the Mabprachan Reservoir, lodged a complaint with the Nongprue municipality regarding people secretly burning garbage behind their housing estate, which caused smoke and unsavoury odour to blow into their home.

They also pointed out to the officers that the roads were deteriorating, creating many potholes which look like sinkholes. This was a danger to man and beast, passing vehicles and especially motorbikes.

On Nov 8, Nongprue Deputy Mayors Wanchai Sangam and Somchai Yanderes, along with Antiart Intak, secretary to Nongprue’s mayor, led a team from the municipality’s engineering department to inspect the area in question.

The officials stated that nothing much could be done about people illicitly burning garbage in little streets and dark areas as this offensive habit was rampant in many Pattaya communities. But what they could do, is get the roads repaired as soon as possible.

Residents can report inconveniences and disturbances that need the attention of authorities at the Nongprue Municipal Office or call 038 933 100 for assistance.

Municipal officers inspect the sinkhole in front of a busy convenience store which poses a serious threat to passersby on foot and wheels.
