A motorcycle collision on Pattaya Third Road quickly escalated into a fistfight, highlighting a growing concern that tempers often flare after traffic accidents instead of drivers exchanging information calmly.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Traffic accidents are an everyday occurrence in Pattaya, but an increasingly familiar scene is unfolding after many collisions: arguments that quickly escalate into fistfights or wrestling matches in the middle of the road. The latest incident occurred on Pattaya Third Road near the entrance to Excite Square Pattaya on July 7, where a motorcycle crash was followed by a physical confrontation between those involved. According to witnesses, a shirtless male rider attempted to turn into the shopping complex, allegedly cutting across traffic. Two women riding another motorcycle, who were travelling straight ahead, were unable to avoid the manoeuvre and collided heavily with his bike.

Moments after the crash, the injured women’s boyfriend arrived at the scene on another motorcycle and attempted to speak with the other rider. However, the discussion quickly deteriorated into an argument before the two men began fighting in the roadway. The incident drew the attention of passing motorists and bystanders before the confrontation was eventually brought under control.

While the collision itself resulted in damage and injuries, many residents say the fight that followed has become just as predictable as the accident.

Across Pattaya, videos shared on social media frequently show traffic disputes escalating into punches, wrestling matches and heated confrontations, particularly when emotions are running high after a crash. Police regularly remind motorists to remain calm following an accident, check for injuries, contact emergency services if necessary and allow insurance representatives and officers to determine responsibility rather than attempting to settle disputes through violence.

With Pattaya’s busy roads shared by local residents, tourists and riders from many different countries, authorities continue to urge drivers to keep their tempers in check, warning that a minor traffic collision can quickly become a criminal case when fists replace words. This angle makes the story more than just another accident—it highlights a recurring Pattaya road culture that many residents and long-term visitors recognize: the crash is often followed by a fight.
