PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City has launched a comprehensive elderly health promotion initiative, combining medical awareness training with traditional cultural activities, underlining its commitment to caring for senior citizens in all dimensions.
The event was held on April 3, 2026, at the Thappraya Meeting Room (401) inside Pattaya City Hall, presided over by Mayor Poramet Ngampichet, who officially opened the program focused on promoting elderly health and raising awareness about dementia warning signs.
The training session, titled “Warning Signs of Dementia,” aimed to educate participants on early detection and proper care for elderly individuals. Public health specialists provided expert lectures, while additional activities included group exercises set to music to promote physical wellbeing and interactive sessions designed to encourage participation and engagement.
Mayor Poramet emphasized that Pattaya prioritizes elderly care in all aspects, particularly in strengthening knowledge about common age-related conditions such as dementia. He noted that early recognition of symptoms plays a crucial role in slowing progression and improving quality of life. He also highlighted the importance of families and communities in supporting elderly people to live healthier and happier lives.
In addition to the training, the event featured a traditional Songkran water-pouring ceremony for senior citizens.
