PATTAYA, Thailand – Nongprue Police are continuing to search for a psychiatric patient who reportedly escaped from Pattaya Bhattamakun Hospital on August 8 and is believed to be carrying a knife. Police identified the man as Montri “Bank” Yaidee, who is described as a psychiatric patient. Authorities said he had previously been involved in an incident in which he allegedly entered a private home before fleeing from the hospital. He was reportedly seen riding a motorcycle while carrying a knife.
At 9:30 a.m. on August 13, Nongprue Police, together with local officials, health authorities and municipal personnel, held a briefing and visited the man’s home in Pong, Banglamung, to assess the situation and gather additional information. The operation was led by Nongprue Police Station chief Pol. Col. Nattapon Phongsuksakul, with officers working alongside Pong Sub-district officials, the director of Pong Health Promoting Hospital and local prevention and municipal officers. Authorities said they are continuing efforts to locate the man and urged residents to exercise caution.
Anyone who sees Montri “Bank” is advised not to approach or attempt to detain him, as he is believed to be carrying a knife. Residents with information are asked to contact Pol. Lt. Col. Police said officers will respond to reports and handle the situation according to procedure to protect public safety.
