Pattaya street workers were repairing the “mother of all potholes” that had developed on Naklua Soi 12.
The hole, near the Zign Hotel, was deep enough for a maintenance worker to step down inside with only his shoulders and head appearing above the surface.
The roadway’s foundation had subsided due to underground work to link sewers, leading to erosion.
A crew of seven mixed in extra-strength cement and let it sit for 24 hours. The road was blocked off for a day to let the repairs firm up.
