BANGKOK, Thailand – MOCA BANGKOK is presenting SUDO RUNGU : Echoes of Fire, the first solo exhibition in Thailand by Indonesian contemporary artist Roby Dwi Antono, from October 27, 2026, to January 3, 2027. Drawing inspiration from memories of his father, a blacksmith, Antono explores themes of memory, transformation, and the passage of time through a collection of new paintings, drawings, photographs, video works, and participatory art.
The exhibition unfolds across three sections titled Arang, Bara, and Abu, which translate as Charcoal, Ember, and Ash. Each reflects a different stage or element of the blacksmith’s forge, from the residue left by burning to the intense heat that reshapes metal and, finally, the quiet that settles after the flames die out.
Through these interconnected stages, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the traces of the past and the changes that shape both materials and human experience. MOCA BANGKOK is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (NNT)
