BANGKOK, Thailand – Pattaya City has received royal recognition for its contribution to marine conservation, with Mayor Poramet Ngampichet accepting a commemorative plaque, pin and certificate on behalf of the city during the “YOUNG Rak Talay – SEA THE CHANGE: Creating a New Ocean With Our Hands” event.
The ceremony took place on July 29 at NEX Hall, Siam Paragon, under the presidency of Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, who officially opened the marine conservation initiative.
Organized by the Foundation for the Conservation of Coral Reefs and Marine Life under the patronage of Princess Sirivannavari, the exhibition highlights efforts to restore and protect Thailand’s marine ecosystems. The public can visit the free exhibition from July 29 to August 12 at NEX Hall on the fifth floor of Siam Paragon.
During the event, royal commemorative plaques, pins and certificates were presented to 17 partner organizations that supported the foundation’s conservation programs during 2025–2026.
Pattaya City was among the organizations honored for its financial and operational support of projects aimed at protecting Thailand’s marine resources and promoting long-term environmental sustainability.
