PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City is preparing to repair and raise sunken drainage covers on Second Road after an inspection found several sitting below the road surface, creating potentially dangerous level differences for motorists.
Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet led the inspection on October 7 with city advisers, officials, council members and his working team. The problem was found at several points along Second Road, where road resurfacing has left some drainage covers lower than the surrounding pavement.
Second Road carries heavy traffic throughout the day, raising concerns that the uneven surfaces could pose a hazard to motorists, particularly motorcycles.
Pattaya City plans to adjust the drainage covers to match the road surface and carry out necessary repairs, with the aim of improving road safety and making the route more convenient for residents and tourists.
