PATTAYA, Thailand – A luxury yacht left leaning dangerously near Na Jomtien Pier has prompted Sattahip officials to coordinate an urgent recovery operation amid fears the vessel could sink and obstruct marine traffic. On August 3, Sattahip District Chief Nattawut Anuyotha inspected the yacht after receiving reports from residents that the vessel, moored near Soi Na Jomtien 52, was severely tilted and at risk of going underwater. He was accompanied by village headwoman Tuenjit Sapna from Village 8, Na Jomtien, during the inspection.
Officials found the yacht visibly leaning to one side. The Sattahip district chief contacted the Pattaya Regional Marine Office and relevant agencies to locate the owner and arrange for the yacht to be recovered as soon as possible. Authorities said the operation was necessary to prevent the vessel from sinking, blocking navigation routes, or creating a potential hazard for other boats in the area.
A security guard nearby said the yacht had been towed and left at the location before the problem occurred. The vessel was initially seen slightly tilted in the morning, but its angle worsened by the afternoon, leading residents to notify officials. Authorities are continuing efforts to contact the yacht owner and remove the vessel from the area before transporting it to a marina for inspection and repairs.
