SRI RACHA, Thailand – A rush of holiday travelers has brought a lively atmosphere to Koh Loy Pier, as both Thai and international tourists continue to flock to Koh Si Chang during the long weekend. Located just a 30-minute drive from Pattaya, the pier has become a key departure point for visitors seeking a quick island escape.
On May 2, large crowds gathered at the pier in Sri Racha district, Chonburi province, waiting to board ferries to the island. Passenger boats operating between Koh Loy and Koh Si Chang have been running at full capacity on every trip, reflecting strong travel demand during the extended holiday period.
Ferry services operate daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, departing every hour from Koh Loy, with tickets priced at just 60 baht per person. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Return trips from Koh Si Chang to the mainland run from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, also on an hourly schedule. During the holiday, every departure has been fully booked.
Koh Si Chang remains a popular destination due to its close proximity to the mainland, ease of access, and relatively low travel costs. The island offers scenic coastal views, a relaxed atmosphere, and a range of attractions, including the revered Chao Pho Khao Yai shrine, which continues to draw visitors seeking blessings.
The influx of tourists has also led to congestion around the pier area, with parking spaces fully occupied and vehicles lining nearby roads as visitors arrive in large numbers.
Authorities, including marine police, the Marine Department, Sri Racha Municipality, and civil defense volunteers, have been deployed to manage traffic, ensure safety, and assist travelers throughout the busy holiday period.
