A German man who fled to Pattaya after an argument with his wife in Suphanburi was found dead in his rented South Pattaya room of an apparent suicide.

The body of Siegfried Kosbue, 56, was found hanging from an electrical cord at the PK Apartment on Soi Sukhumvit 79. Neighbors called police after seeing his door ajar and hearing loud music playing for two continuous days.

Investigating officers found no signs of attack or theft in the room and presume Kosbue killed himself.

Kosbue’s wife, Urai, 40, said they had been married for three years, living in Suphanburi. But about a week ago, she said, Siegfried got drunk and got into an argument with her and their 19-year-old son. When he hit the teen, Kosbue said, she threatened to call the police. He packed his bags and left.

She said she never imagined her husband would go to Pattaya and kill himself.
