Thick smoke billows out of the empty apartment as Pattaya firefighters rushed in and extinguished the flames in 20 minutes.

An electrical short is being blamed for a fire that damaged a vacant apartment in Pattaya.

Firefighters took about 20 minutes to control the blaze at the apartment house on Sukhumvit Soi 75 March 23.

A witness said the apartment is vacant and used only as a storeroom.

No official cause of the fire was listed, but authorities speculated it was caused by a short in the electrical wiring.
