PATTAYA, Thailand – A potentially frightening ordeal ended happily in the early hours of June 12 after a young foreign girl who became separated from her family on Pattaya’s Walking Street was safely reunited with her parents. At approximately 1:14 a.m., Pattaya municipal enforcement officers and members of the Walking Street security and rescue team were carrying out routine patrols near Soi 14 when they were approached by a concerned member of the public. The good Samaritan had found a young foreign girl, believed to be between seven and ten years old, wandering alone after becoming separated from her family.
Officers immediately took the child into their care and ensured her safety while efforts were launched to locate her parents. Authorities coordinated with the Tourist Police service point and investigators at Pattaya City Police Station to gather information and determine whether any missing child report had been filed. Their search quickly produced results. Police confirmed that the girl’s parents had already reported her missing and were actively searching for her. Officers then escorted the child to the police station, where she was reunited with her relieved family. The reunion brought an anxious search to a happy conclusion and was welcomed by all those involved in the operation.
