PATTAYA, Thailand – Dark clouds gathered over Pattaya on Thursday afternoon as scattered showers moved across several parts of the city, providing temporary relief from the heat but creating slippery conditions on some roads. Residents and visitors reported periods of light to moderate rainfall in various areas, including Central Pattaya, South Pattaya, Jomtien, and Naklua. The changing weather saw sunny intervals quickly replaced by thick grey clouds moving in from the Gulf of Thailand. Despite the rain, beach activities continued in some areas, although vendors and tourists were seen seeking shelter as showers passed through. Traffic slowed on several roads as motorists exercised caution on wet surfaces.
The rainy conditions are typical for this time of year as Thailand remains under the influence of the southwest monsoon. Local authorities have advised residents and visitors to monitor weather updates and be prepared for sudden downpours, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours. Forecasters expect unsettled weather to continue in the coming days, with a chance of additional showers and thunderstorms across Pattaya and surrounding areas of Chonburi province.
