Pattaya on alert as cooler mornings sweep the Northeast and heavy monsoon rains lash the South, stirring rough seas across the Gulf of Thailand.

PATTAYA, Thailand – The Meteorological Department reports that upper Thailand will experience limited rainfall, while heavy showers are expected in parts of the South — particularly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong, and Phang Nga.

Pattaya and nearby coastal areas are on alert for unsettled weather as the monsoon trough continues to influence the Gulf of Thailand. Although rainfall in Chonburi is expected to be scattered, local authorities have advised residents and boat operators to stay cautious of strong winds and rough seas.

A moderate high-pressure system from China is also bringing cooler morning temperatures to the Northeast, while the South remains under the influence of moist air currents causing isolated heavy rain.

Officials have urged farmers to protect crops from sudden weather changes and travelers to take extra care on wet roads.

The Andaman Sea will see moderate waves of around two meters, and the upper Gulf of Thailand, including waters off Pattaya, will have waves 1–2 meters high, rising higher during thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Typhoon Kalmaegi over the central South China Sea is forecast to make landfall in central Vietnam on November 6–7 before weakening into a tropical storm and depression, with indirect effects expected across Thailand.

Bangkok and surrounding provinces will have light rain covering about 20% of the area, with temperatures ranging from 23–24°C to 31–32°C.
