Community leader helps drunk foreign tourist after late-night fall near Pattaya Park

Thap Phraya community chairman Praphan helps an intoxicated foreign tourist who had fallen in the road during the early morning hours.

PATTAYA, Thailand – A Thap Phraya community leader came to the aid of a foreign tourist who was found intoxicated and unable to help himself after falling in the middle of a road in Pattaya during the early hours of Aug. 20. At around 4:30 a.m., community chairman Praphan was carrying out cleaning work in a soi near Pattaya Park when he noticed the foreign tourist lying in the road.

He immediately stopped to check on the man and found that he appeared to be intoxicated and had suffered minor injuries from the fall.


After speaking with the tourist and obtaining information about where he was staying, the community leader helped escort him back to his accommodation safely. After the tourist had been returned, security personnel were asked to take photographs of the incident for record-keeping and future reference.

The incident highlighted the role of local community leaders in looking after the safety of residents and visitors, even during the early morning hours, and ensuring that a vulnerable tourist was able to return safely to his accommodation.
