CHIANG MAI, Thailand – A 13-year-old girl from Doi Lo district has sought justice after allegedly being lured to a local recreation area and attacked by a group of four females following a misunderstanding over a social media post. The girl, identified by the pseudonym “Phapang,” told local media that she was invited by a friend to visit Doi Noi Weir at around 5 p.m. on August 7. When she arrived, the group allegedly confronted her and asked a male friend who had accompanied her to wait elsewhere. She said four females then assaulted her, leaving her injured. The girl said the incident may have stemmed from a phrase she had posted on her social media story, which she believes the group may have misunderstood as a reference to them.
According to the girl, the group later followed her male friend by vehicle and confronted him before leaving the area. Her 38-year-old father and 61-year-old grandmother said they learned about the incident after receiving footage and immediately began looking for her. They later arranged to meet the other side at a police station on August 8, but the other parties did not appear. The family subsequently filed a police complaint and said they intended to pursue legal action against everyone involved. Police are investigating the allegations and proceeding according to law.
