BANGKOK, Thailand – Education Minister Prasert Chandraruangthong presided over the opening of the Bangkok round of the Esports Master Youth Champion 2026 at Suankularb Wittayalai School on August 26, promoting esports as an educational tool to develop analytical thinking and teamwork among young people. The event serves as both the Bangkok championship and a qualifying round for the national competition. Participants are competing in Free Fire, Arena of Valor (RoV), and FC Online, with successful teams earning the opportunity to represent Bangkok at the Grand Final at Siam Paragon on October 3.
The Education Ministry is promoting competitive gaming as a form of simulation-based learning that allows students to apply problem-solving and planning skills in realistic situations. The competition also encourages communication, self-management, sportsmanship, responsibility, and responsible digital citizenship. Teams advancing to the Grand Final will compete for a Royal Trophy graciously bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi. Competitors and supporters are also being encouraged to maintain respectful conduct at the venue and online, helping create a positive environment for young players.
