PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya Tourist Police helped reunite a 76-year-old Indian tourist with his tour group after he became separated from a large group visiting the city and was found needing assistance late Wednesday night. At around 10 p.m. on July 22, officers received a request for help through the Tourist Police emergency hotline 1155 from a member of the public who reported a foreign visitor lost from his tour group.
The elderly tourist had become separated from a large Indian tour group of around 350 people and had walked a considerable distance from Jomtien Beach before receiving assistance. Tourist police officers brought him to the Pattaya Tourist Police Station, where he was able to rest while officers arranged communication support with a Hindi-language interpreter. After speaking with the tourist, officers learned that he was staying at a hotel in the Jomtien Beach area. Police then coordinated with his tour guide and friends before safely returning him to the group.
The tourist expressed his appreciation to the officers and thanked them with a smile after being safely reunited with his companions. Pattaya Tourist Police reminded tour guides and tour leaders that visitors who become separated from their groups can immediately contact officers for assistance and do not need to wait 24 hours to report a missing person situation.
