Re: Siam Bayshore goes smoke-free (PM Friday, 25 December 2015) – Re: Reject smoking bans! One could argue until blue in the face about whether or not second hand smoke is harmful, but one thing that is above argument is that the smell of cigarette smoke is often unpleasant to non-smokers, and sometimes even sickening. Smokers don’t exist in a bubble, and their smoke certainly isn’t contained in their little sphere of existence. Light up a cigarette, cigar or pipe, and the smoke spreads across a large area, easily infiltrating everything and everyone nearby. So, if a hotel or restaurant wants to ban smoking on their premises, I applaud them, and certainly respect that is their right to do so. Don’t like it? No one is stopping you from going somewhere else to smoke.
