PATTAYA, Thailand – The Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) provinces—Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong— are stepping up efforts to boost Thailand’s tourism industry through the “EEC Travel Mart,” a major business-matching event aimed at strengthening networks, expanding markets, and driving sustainable tourism growth.
The event took place on August 19 at the Nong Nooch Pattaya International Convention and Exhibition Center. Ms. Thitiphan Phettrakul, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, joined the event alongside senior officials and business leaders. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Adirek Un-osot, Deputy Governor of Chonburi Province.
Mr. Adirek emphasized that tourism is a key engine of Thailand’s economy, and the EEC region possesses outstanding potential with its world-class attractions, cultural diversity, and professional operators.
“The EEC Travel Mart serves as a vital platform to build confidence, enhance the region’s image, and elevate the EEC as a premier international tourism destination,” he stated.

Business Matching Success
This year’s Travel Mart gathered over 220 travel buyers from across Thailand who engaged in direct negotiations with more than 250 sellers, representing hotels, tour companies, and entertainment venues. The event provided opportunities for participants to exchange ideas, showcase tourism products and services, and expand into both established and emerging markets.
Showcasing Trends & Experiences
Alongside the business sessions, the event featured a travel trend seminar with leading tourism influencers sharing new travel routes, lifestyle experiences, and the unique charm of the EEC provinces.
The Strength of the EEC
With its pristine beaches, luxury resorts, cultural landmarks, local lifestyles, and modern infrastructure, the EEC offers everything international and domestic tourists seek. Combined with strong hospitality and food services, the region continues to position itself as a top tourism hub in Southeast Asia.
