PATTAYA, Thailand – The Rotary Club Global Pattaya officially inaugurated a new drinking water station at Pattaya City School 7 on Friday, July 17, marking another milestone in its “Water is Life” project aimed at providing students with safe, clean drinking water while reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottles.
The ceremony, held in the school’s auditorium, was attended by representatives from Pattaya City, the education sector, Pattaya City School 7 Director Khun Noy, Rotary Club Global Pattaya President and project leader Brett Beadleson, Charter President Rose Gamito, Rotary members, teachers and students.
In her welcome address, School Director Khun Noy thanked everyone whose generosity and dedication had made the project possible. She emphasised the importance of ensuring students have reliable access to clean drinking water every day and praised the Rotary Club for its continued commitment to improving the well-being of local children.
A representative from Pattaya City Hall described the project as an excellent example of successful cooperation between the public and private sectors. He noted that initiatives such as “Water is Life” not only improve students’ quality of life but also encourage environmental responsibility by promoting the use of reusable water bottles and reducing plastic waste.
Project leader Pres. Brett Beadleson explained that the new water purification station will provide students with safe, hygienic drinking water throughout the school day while helping to create a cleaner and more sustainable school environment. He thanked the project’s donors, volunteers and Rotary members for their generous support, adding that the initiative reflects the club’s long-standing partnership with Pattaya City and Pattaya City School 7. He also reaffirmed Rotary Club Global Pattaya’s ongoing commitment to supporting education, healthcare and sustainable community development.
A further highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of 30 school uniforms to students from Pattaya City School 7, demonstrating the club’s continuing support for disadvantaged families in the local community.
The ceremony concluded with representatives of Pattaya City, Pattaya City School 7, Rotary Club Global Pattaya and student representatives joining together to cut the ceremonial ribbon before officially commissioning the new water station. Guests then witnessed the first demonstration of the modern water purification system.
The new facility is expected to provide hundreds of students with access to clean drinking water every school day. Guided by Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” Rotary Club Global Pattaya continues to make a meaningful contribution to the community through practical projects that improve health, support education and promote environmental sustainability.
