PATTAYA, Thailand – In a heartwarming celebration of International Father’s Day, students from the Father Ray Foundation’s Technical College for the Disabled provided musical entertainment for the Pattaya City Expats Club on Wednesday, June 18. The celebration was led by Poppy Quinn who volunteers his services to the Father Ray Foundation.

The highlight of the celebration was the music performance by the students both before and during the meeting. Despite not being professional musicians, they showcased their musical talents by performing songs both popular and to honor Father Ray.

The Technical College’s Director, Khun Kamphun Ratchada, spoke to the Club about the formation of the College and its goal of providing an education to handicapped students ensuring them of a job upon completion. Community involvement was encouraged through volunteering and donations, particularly in providing educational resources and skills training. Some of the students shared their aspirations and experiences, expressing a desire to learn skills such as programming and English to enhance their job prospects.

The Father Ray Foundation’s Technical College continues to make a significant impact in the lives of students with disabilities, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. The celebration of Father’s Day was a reminder of the foundation’s mission and the importance of community support in achieving its goals. Not only is the school free, but it also guarantees that all graduating students will have employment when they leave and they will be able to, and in the words of the school’s founder, Father Ray Brennan, ‘earn their own rice’.

Upon completion of the presentation, three Expats in the audience volunteered to help them and the audience donated about 13,000 baht toward their operation.
