A spectacular Ramayana Khon performance unfolds at the foot of the Khao Chi Chan Buddha Statue during the Khao Chi Chan Festival, blending Thailand’s classical performing arts with one of the nation’s most iconic cultural landmarks.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Chonburi Province proudly invites the public and visitors to experience one of Thailand’s most majestic cultural spectacles at the 12th Khao Chi Chan Festival 2026, taking place on 20–21 February 2026 at the iconic Khao Chi Chan Buddha Statue—located just a 20-minute drive from central Pattaya toward Sattahip, making it easily accessible for both residents and tourists.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the monumental stone-carved Buddha image, officially named Phra Phuttha Maha Wachira Uttamobhas Sassada—created in honor of His Majesty King Rama IX—the festival will showcase grand Ramayana Khon performances, one of Thailand’s highest classical art forms.



On Friday, 20 February, audiences will be treated to the episode “Hanuman Presents the Ring”, followed on Saturday, 21 February by the epic and rarely staged “The Battle of the Ten Kings and Ten Chariots.” These breathtaking outdoor performances will feature over 100 musicians, dancers, performers, and voice actors, making it one of the largest open-air Khon productions in Thailand.

The performances begin daily at 5.30 p.m. at the activity area in front of the Khao Chi Chan Buddha Statue, Sattahip District. Admission is open to the public, offering a rare opportunity to witness Thai classical heritage performed on a truly monumental stage.

The Chonburi Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports warmly welcomes residents, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts to join this unforgettable celebration of Thai art, history, and devotion.

The official performance schedule highlights two grand Ramayana Khon episodes at the 12th Khao Chi Chan Festival—“Hanuman Presents the Ring” on Friday, 20 February, followed by the epic “The Battle of the Ten Kings and Ten Chariots” on Saturday, 21 February—promising two evenings of majestic Thai classical theatre at the foot of the Khao Chi Chan Buddha Statue.
